It began with science. As a physics and image science student, Ayoub discovered that the image was not merely a visual artifact but a measurable, governable phenomenon governed by the laws of optics, light and perception. That revelation changed everything.
His path started at ISMAC Rabat, the Higher Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema Professions, where he trained in image capture, colour science and the full audiovisual chain. From there, the science and the art refused to be separated. He threw himself into production, directing and shooting multiple projects, learning every stage of the pipeline from the inside.
Continuing his studies while simultaneously making films, he pursued a Master of Arts in Film Studies at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, deepening his understanding of visual theory and cinema history. Throughout, his academic research ran in parallel, producing published work on optical convolution, colour halftoning, sonification, and skin appearance modelling.
The final chapter, for now, was the most scientific: an MSc in Advanced Imaging and Material Appearance at Université Jean Monnet, where he became obsessed with image quality at its most fundamental level, studying how light interacts with materials, how surfaces are perceived, and how that perception can be engineered, measured and reproduced. Two worlds, one eye.
